Partner Institutes

We work with a number of academic institutes, global research collaborations, and private corporations to develop, test, and deploy our open-source metrology and telemetry instruments.

Avastus Preclinical Services

If you are a pharmaceutical company in need of a preclinical animal study, we recommend Avastus Preclinical Services of Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. We first collaborated with Avastus on sleep studies in early 2026 and are now working with them to provide wireless telemetry for experiments that require freely-moving, cohabiting rats and mice. Because of the close proximity between our two companies, we are able to set up trials with dozens of animals quickly at Avastus and develop new protocols for novel experiments by close collaboration between OSI engineers and Avastus technicians.

Focalis Bio

Formerly EpilepsyGTx, Focalis Bio is a company started by Matthew Walker, Dimitri Kullmann, Stephanie Schorge, and Gabriele Lignani, with whom we have been collaborating for the past twenty years on the development of small-animal telemetry. We are currently working with Focalis Bio on improvements to our Head-Mounting Transmitters (HMTs).

Institute of Neurology

We developed of our small-animal telemetry system in collaboration with Matthew Walker at the Institute of Neurology (ION) at University College London (UCL). Our collaboration began in 2005 and we published A Novel Telemetry System for Recording EEG in Small Animals in 2011. We collaborated with Dimitri Kullmann upon the development of the Implantable Sensor with Lamp (ISL) in the years 2013-2015. We collaborated with Stephanie Schorge on the development of the Animal Location Tracker (ALT) in the years 2016-2018. We visit ION several times a year to discuss the maintenance and operation of their several mouse and rat telemetry systems, which are in continuous use.

Tufts University

We work with Hugo Beauchement's group at the Tufts University Department of Physics and Astronomy to help maintain the End-Cap Alignment System of the ATLAS detector at CERN. The data acquisition software, data acquisition hardware, metrology cameras, and light sources that make up the alignment system were developed at Brandeis University in the years 1995-2020. It is OSI's responsibility to provide updates to the software, advise on maintenance of the hardware, and perform repairs to hardware returned from CERN.

Duzce University

We are collaborating with Kagan Agan and his group at Duzce University on the development of our new A3051 Blood Pressure Monitor.

ATLAS Experiment

Our president has been a member of the ATLAS experiment since 1995. The ATLAS detectors is one of the four main particle detectors arranged around the Large Hadronic Collider (LHC) at the Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland.

CERN Survey Group

We have collaborated with the CERN survey group on many alignment systems over the past twenty years. With the help of the survey group, the LHCb, ALICE, and CMS experiments installed OSI-manufactured metrology devices on their detectors. In close collaboration with the CERN survey group we developed the H-BCAM for the ISOLDE experiment and the WPS for advance work on the Future Circular Collider (FCC). The H-BCAM is currently the best-selling member of our BCAM family and is currently being installed in the alignment system of the PIP-II accelerator at Fermilab.
